How much does an office pod cost in the UK? (2026 guide)

What office pods cost in the UK in 2026: phone booths, work pods and meeting pods, plus delivery, installation and building-rules costs to budget for.

There's no single price for an office pod. What you pay depends mostly on how many people it holds, how its acoustics have been tested and what's built in — and some costs sit outside the pod itself. Here's what published UK price guides say in 2026, and what else to budget for.

The short answer

Published UK guides put a one-person phone booth from about £3,000, and large meeting pods for six to eight people at £20,000 to £35,000 or more. These are the ranges from two guides we checked in September 2026:

Published UK office pod price ranges, 2026
Type of podZentura (Aug 2026)K2 Space (ex VAT)
Phone booth, 1 person£3,000–£10,000£3,000–£17,000
Work pod, 1 person with desk£5,000–£15,000Not listed
Meeting pod, 2 people£6,000–£20,000 (2–4 people)£7,500–£20,000
Meeting pod, 4 people£6,000–£20,000 (2–4 people)£12,000–£26,000
Meeting pod, 6 people£20,000–£35,000+ (6–8 people)£22,000–£35,000

Zentura doesn't say whether its figures include VAT; K2 Space's are ex VAT. The ranges are wide because they cover everything from entry-level booths to premium models with very different specifications.

What drives the price

Size and capacity

More people means more floor, glass, panels and ventilation. In both guides, prices step up sharply from one-person booths to four- and six-person meeting pods. Our guide to meeting pod sizes compares the floor space each size needs.

Tested acoustic performance

Pods tested to ISO 23351-1 get a class from A+ to D, based on how much they reduce speech levels. When you compare prices, check whether a quoted dB figure comes from that test or is the manufacturer's own number — see how soundproof is an office pod?

Ventilation, lighting and power

An enclosed pod needs mechanical ventilation, and a meeting pod needs far more airflow than a booth: building-standards consultancy Sweco's benchmark is 10 litres per second per person. Lighting, sockets and wireless charging add to the specification too.

Furniture

Some prices include a desk, a table and chairs; others are for the empty pod. Check what's in the photo against what's in the quote.

Delivery and installation

Some pods are plug and play; others arrive as panels and need a fitter, which adds to the cost. K2 Space advises confirming delivery and installation terms when you get a quote, because they vary considerably.

Costs beyond the pod

According to Sweco, bringing a fully enclosed pod into an office counts as a material alteration under the Building Regulations. That can bring extra work and fees to plan for:

  • Fire detection and alarms: the pod must stay out of the 500 mm clear zone around smoke detectors, and the fire alarm should reach at least 60 dB inside it. If it doesn't, your fire alarm contractor may need to make changes.
  • Ventilation: the pod's fan should deliver at least 10 l/s per person, or 1 l/s per m² of floor, whichever is more.
  • Access: pods should ideally be accessible to everyone, with a level threshold and clear space beside the door — otherwise an accessible room with the same function is needed elsewhere.
  • Building control or approved inspector fees, where an application is needed.
  • Getting it in: lifts, stairs, narrow doors and any extra handling on the day.
  • Landlord consent: if you rent, check your lease — alterations may need approval.

Our guide to office pods and Building Regulations goes through each point.

Ex VAT or inc VAT?

Many UK suppliers quote pod prices excluding VAT. At the standard 20% rate, VAT adds a fifth: a pod priced at £5,000 + VAT costs £6,000 including VAT. If your business is VAT-registered, you may be able to reclaim it — check with your accountant.
