What is an office phone booth?

An office phone booth is a small, sound-insulated room for one person, placed inside an open-plan office. It gives people somewhere private to take calls and join video meetings without booking a meeting room or disturbing colleagues.

If you're looking for a phone booth for office use rather than a recording booth, you're in the right place: ours is built for speech privacy on everyday calls, with a desk, lighting, ventilation and power inside.

Size: 105 × 105 × 224 cm

Our Solo Phone Booth is 105 cm wide, 105 cm long and 224 cm tall (3 ft 5 in × 3 ft 5 in × 7 ft 4 in), so it needs 1.10 m² (11.9 sq ft) of floor. Leave room in front for the door to open, and check the ceiling above the spot — beams, lights and smoke detectors included. Our office pod sizes page has footprints drawn to scale.

What's included in ours

A soundproof booth for the office

No booth is completely soundproof, but a good one keeps your side of the conversation private and cuts open-plan noise so you can hear the call. Ours is rated at 38–40 dB of sound insulation. That's the manufacturer's stated figure, and we label it that way.

Its acoustic wall panels are rated NRC 0.95. That's a different measure: it describes how much sound the panels absorb inside the booth, which stops your voice echoing. A high NRC doesn't mean the booth blocks that share of sound.

If you're comparing suppliers, ask whether their dB figure is a speech level reduction measured to ISO 23351-1, and which class it achieved. Our guide how soundproof is an office pod? explains the classes.

Vocal and recording booths are sold as “soundproof booths” too, but they're built for a different job. If you're not sure which you need, read soundproof booth: office pod or vocal booth?

Office phone booth price

Published UK guides put a one-person office phone booth from about £3,000. In 2026, Zentura gives a range of £3,000 to £10,000, and K2 Space £3,000 to £17,000 excluding VAT. The spread is wide because it covers very different specifications — from basic booths to models with a tested ISO 23351-1 class.

When you compare quotes, check what each price includes: delivery and installation, VAT, the furniture in the photo, and whether the dB figure is a tested speech level reduction or the maker's own number.

We don't hide our price behind a quote form. Add the Solo Phone Booth to your basket and the price appears straight away — ex VAT and inc VAT, without giving an email address. For the full breakdown, read how much does an office pod cost in the UK?

Where should an office phone booth go?

Put it within a short walk of the people who take the most calls, within reach of a wall socket, and clear of walkways and fire routes. Check what's above the spot: the booth is 224 cm tall, and Sweco's guidance is to keep a 500 mm clear zone around smoke detectors. Our guide where to place phone booths in an open-plan office has more, and the fit checker tells you whether it fits your space.

Standing booth or seated capsule?

The phone booth is built for calls: a standing-height desk and a bar stool keep the footprint to 1.10 m². If people will spend longer inside — writing, reading, an hour-long video call — a seated pod is more comfortable. The Focus Work Capsule is 126 × 160 cm and shown with a desk and office chair; the Solo Work Pod has an upholstered bench. Both are on our work pods page.

Why buy from stock?

Many office pods are made to order. Our phone booths are already built, so once we've confirmed access and a delivery date on the phone, your booth is on its way ready to use. Add one to your basket to see the price straight away.
