Indoor pods for the home · UK
A quiet room inside your home, for calls and focused work when the house is busy. Our office pods are for indoor use only — they're not garden rooms — and start with a one-person phone booth that takes 1.10 m² of floor.

Search for a home office pod and most of what you'll find are garden rooms: insulated cabins that sit outside the house. Ours aren't. Every pod we sell is designed for indoor use only, to stand inside an existing room — a spare room, or a corner of a larger one — and give you a private, quieter space without building anything.
That makes an indoor pod a different decision from a garden office. There's no outbuilding to plan, but the pod has to fit under your ceiling and get in through your doors. The checks below cover both.
Our one-person pods are the ones that fit most homes. Sizes are external width × length × height.

The phone booth is 224 cm tall and our other pods are 220 cm. Measure from the floor to the lowest point above the spot — beams, pendant lights and smoke alarms included. Building-standards consultancy Sweco advises a 500 mm clear zone around smoke detectors, so keep the top of the pod at least 50 cm below any detector above it.
The booth needs 105 × 105 cm and the Focus Work Capsule 126 × 160 cm. Add room in front for the door to open and for you to step in and out. If the pod is going upstairs, ask us about its weight on the call.
The booth arrives fully assembled at 105 × 105 × 224 cm, so every door, hallway and turn on the way in needs at least 105 cm of clear width. That's wider than a door built to the minimum for a new home in England (775 mm clear for the main entrance, under Approved Document M). Double or patio doors may give you the width — measure them and tell us on the call.

Check it fitsAn indoor pod isn't an outbuilding: it's a room inside a room. It suits you if you have a spare corner indoors and want somewhere quiet for calls without going outside. A garden pod suits you better if you have no space indoors, want a workspace completely separate from the household, or your ceilings and doorways can't take an indoor pod. A garden office is an outbuilding, so planning limits apply — our guide garden office pod or indoor pod? Which to choose covers them and goes through the choice in more detail.
No pod is completely silent, but a good one keeps your side of a call private and cuts household noise enough for a clear conversation. Our Solo Phone Booth is rated at 38–40 dB of sound insulation — that's the manufacturer's stated figure, not an ISO 23351-1 test class — with a double-glazed tempered glass door.
The booth and the Focus Work Capsule are lined with acoustic panels rated NRC 0.95. They absorb sound inside the pod, which cuts echo so you sound clear on calls; they don't measure how much sound gets through the walls. If you're weighing up a recording booth instead, read soundproof booth: office pod or vocal booth?

FAQ
Yes, if it fits. Our pods are designed for indoor use, so a spare room or a corner of a larger room can work — as long as there's enough headroom (the pods are 220–224 cm tall), enough floor space and a route in that's wide enough for delivery.
Only if every opening on the way in is at least 105 cm wide, because the booth arrives assembled at 105 × 105 × 224 cm. In England, a new home's main entrance door can have a clear opening as narrow as 775 mm, so measure every door on the route and we'll check it with you on the call.
Not for the Solo Phone Booth or the Solo Work Pod: they plug into a standard wall socket. For the Focus Work Capsule, we confirm the power supply on the call.
No. Our pods are for indoor use only. For a garden office you need an outbuilding designed for outdoor use — our guide garden office pod or indoor pod? explains the difference.
No pod is completely silent. Our phone booth is rated at 38–40 dB of sound insulation (the manufacturer's stated figure), and the booth and Focus Work Capsule are lined with acoustic panels rated NRC 0.95 to cut echo inside. More in how soundproof is an office pod?
